Honda Certified Used Car Program: Simply the Best, Rated "Best in Class" Four Years in
a Row
"Honda has consistently stayed a step or two ahead of the competition by
continuing to strengthen its program," said IntelliChoice® president John
Hammond in announcing its survey results. "Their actions speak volumes: Honda is
committed to certified used cars and to the customers they serve."IntelliChoice®
worked with a team of ASE-certified instructors and technicians—automotive
experts who make their living maintaining and repairing cars—to develop a
standardized list of 141 items that should be inspected when certifying a used
car. Manufacturer programs were then rated based on how well their inspection
lists compared with the standard, as well as other factors. Among non-luxury
nameplates, Honda came the closest to meeting–if not in some areas exceeding–the
IntelliChoice® standard.
Only Honda models that are six-years old or
newer with fewer than 80,000 miles can participate in Honda's stringent
certification exam. Ultimately, each vehicle must pass a comprehensive,
150-point mechanical and appearance inspection to be considered a Honda
Certified Used Car.
Honda's
Certified Used Car Warranty Rated Best for Third Straight Year
IntelliChoice® honored the Honda Certified Used Cars Program for the third
year in a row as having the best warranty among both luxury and non-luxury
nameplates.
IntelliChoice president John Hammond acknowledged that the
strength of the warranty was a major reason why Honda's Used Cars Program was
named "Best in its Class": "A warranty is one of the most important
considerations for consumers shopping for certified pre-owned vehicles."Each
certified Honda is backed by the industry's best, limited factory warranty.
Honda's warranty provides coverage for seven years or 100,000 miles on the
powertrain and 12 months or 12,000 miles on non-powertrain components, in
addition to the remaining balance of the New Car Limited Warranty, if
applicable. The warranty is transferable and covers virtually all mechanical
systems. There is no deductible on covered repairs. Warranty and service
contracts are honored at all Honda dealers
nationwide.
Automotive Lease Guide Recognizes Honda's Craftsmanship and
Durability
For the third year in a row, the Automotive Lease Guide (ALG) has honored
Honda with its annual Residual Value Award.
In addition, the Honda
Odyssey was selected Best Minivan for the third-straight year, and the CR-V
topped the list as Best Subcompact SUV.
